The playmaker mechanic can only be used after you hike the ball on offense. It allows you to tell a receiver to run to a different area of the field. You can only playmaker the player that is closest to the quarterback, so you will often end up playmakering a drag route or some other short route. Self-explanatory title. I play offline franchise exclusively and play on the All Madden level so I can't jack up the pass blocking sliders as much as I need to to have reasonable time to pass. Given my skill level, I get sacked times per game. I'm working to improve my hot reads, but I'd also like to know what all you can do to protect against various types of pressures in the game.

Any and all insights about how you set up successful protections would be appreciated, aside from the go try it yourself and figure it out approach. I don't have time for that. Going hot in blitzes help, if you notice the safety coming in to blitz, bring your slot on a streak if you can pick it up, or read the D for zone or man and use the slant or drag respectfully.
